Adapted from the ICRW global strategy, this plan provides the focus for the next three years while considering emerging global, regional, national, and subnational trends. It also maps out a new approach to ensure that ICRW-Africa delivers context-specific and relevant content and devises scalable solutions that propel women and girls to lead safe, healthy, and productive lives where they achieve their full potential and thrive.
To advance rights & opportunities for African women, girls & marginalized communities with actionable evidence & solutions
A just and prosperous Africa where women, girls & marginalized communities lead the change & thrive
ICRW Africa exists to close Africa’s gender gap by making African feminist research visible, actionable and transformative.
We generate and apply Afro-feminist evidence to shift norms, inform decision-making and strengthen gender-responsive systems in health, SRHR and women’s economic opportunity and security. We mentor and equip the next generation of African gender researchers and convene diverse actors, activists and allies to translate knowledge into action across policy, research and practice for gender equity. In doing so, we catalyze partnerships, investments and reforms that embed equity in institutions and enable women, girls and marginalized communities across Africa to lead and thrive.
