Climate Action

How do we define climate action? Climate action means ensuring representation, inclusion, and protection of the rights of those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Solutions must promote equity, assure access to basic resources, and ensure that young people can live, learn, play, and work in healthy and clean environments.

The climate crisis is not gender-neutral. In Africa, women and marginalized communities often bear the greatest burdens of environmental change—despite contributing the least to its causes. From access to resources to decision-making power, climate challenges deepen existing inequalities. Advancing gender equity means placing women and girls at the center of climate action—amplifying their voices, recognizing their leadership, and ensuring they are part of the solutions. This platform highlights the vital connection between climate justice and gender justice, and why addressing one requires addressing the other.
